i stil have all the factory premium sound with the gain slider in my car, but im running a sony cd player, i know the gain slider just kinda works as a loudness, is there a way i can splic my JL audio 12w0 into the factory amp, for alittle extra thump? the stock sounds good but anything ove rhalf volume the bass is useless and distorted, even with everything turned down on the deck, otherwise im gonna trade my sub for a true bazzoka tube

Yes. There are two sets of leads to the rear 6x9'*. One for the midrange, one for the woofer that the Gain slider boosts. Marked the same, though. Cut one, figure out which part of the speaker you lost, then run the woofer set to your amp for subwoofers. That'* what I did.

I thought that you couldnt use the gain amp when you have an aftermarket deck installed because the wiring doesnt match up.

JWikoff -- do you have an aftermarket or original deck? And how well does it work with a sub connected?

You can use the factory amp with an aftermarket head unit if you use the stock wiring and power the amp wire.

Here is a link to how I did it.

I stand corrected Thats good I might try that. How does it sound with subs connected? Does the amp have any backbone?

I wouldn't know about the subs. I run an upgraded HU with stock speakers/amp.

The stock amp is nothing you would consider hearty. Think of it like a loudness button. Then once you enter 97+.. you must power the amp to have sound, and there is no gain slider.

I've got a stock deck. The stock amped signal runs to another amp in my case. I'm pretty please with the results.
