did you buy the other radio brand new? and it wasnt factory right?

ShreddedPapers 10-14-2009 08:28 PM

The other radio was used but guaranteed to be in complete working order. And it is, besides the e20 error.

The radio I bought was from eBay. I'm cheap. :D

what brand radio?

ShreddedPapers 10-14-2009 09:36 PM

I'm not sure. The stock radio in my Bonneville only played cassettes, so I found one on eBay just like it, only with a CD player. That radio lasted for a year or so. The replacement I bought is the same kind.

...That's a factory radio, isn't it? My bad. ._.

The seller on ebay is actually nice enough to send me another radio, so when this one comes in, we'll see how it goes.

I'll keep you guys updated. :)

You may also want to make sure that your dash isnt damaged and that the radio is mounted securely. I dont know that if your radio bounces and shakes alot it may cause the eye to have a hard time focusing.

ShreddedPapers 10-15-2009 11:07 PM

My dash is in one nice, pretty piece and the radio mounts very securely.

But yes, my CD player did mess up the most on bumpy roads.

So, new radio just came in. Installed it, tried a CD, same thing. That's three.

I don't imagine something is wrong with all three of them. What else could it be and how should I fix this? I don't have the money to bring my car to a professional repair place.

I want you to wire either your new radio or one of the old ones to a battery on a bench. I really am beginning to think that the problem is in your wiring. Maybe small pulse surges in your wiring telling your sensors in your radio that there is a problem there that doesnt really exist. All three of your radios were the same exact ones. Right?

ShreddedPapers 10-21-2009 05:31 PM

Yes, all three radios are the same.

How exactly do I do this? I've done it before, but the old radio I used last time had a simple red wire coming out of the back of it. This has a ton of little wires, all packed into one.
