CD player clicking...

Wondering if anyone knew what could be wrong with my CD player('92 ssei)... it clicks when I put a cd in and try to take it out. Doesn't play the cds. Is it broke or a simple fix? :?

that is the transport mechanism beginning to fail.

Buddy at a stereo shop told me on my 95. Options are spend a 100+ to send out and fix or get a new HU (that plays cd and mp3's)

Might as well just spend a little more and get an aftermarket one in that case.

BillBoost37 10-04-2005 12:33 PM

Tthat was my opinion as well.

I've installed a quite a few aftermarket HU's. I looked at the trim on my bonneville is it hard to remove that or is just as easy as anything else?

the shop around me charged 145ish to replace : volume knob, screen, CD laser, and a few other things.

I had the same problem with mine.. Just get an aftermarket unit. It's not worth the money to replace the factory unit.

the trim is wasy to remove just grab the trim with your fingers and pull outward starting around the radio...the trim piece goes all around the steering wheel also. there are 5 clips that hold the trim on

What 1993 means is it is easy. Consider your mounting kit... there's a few posts recently showing standard black to backlit.

Wasy....lol

I normally start pulling that trim off from where it meets the gauges, either side of the steering wheel. I found that it was the easiest place to get a good grip. Then pull around the trim pannel going clockwise.
