Default AVIC NAVi installed 2001, SUBS?

Hi guys, I installed an AVIC F90BT a few days ago in my 2001 Bonneville SSEI black beauty. It looks great, and this weekend I intend to go ahead and replace every speaker in the car, and add a couple subs also. I have a 6 channel amp I'm gonna install (MB court) to power the front 6.5 the rear door speakers and the rear 6x9'*. I also have a couple new 12" subs and a 600 watt amp I have been sitting on for a few years waiting on something good to put them in. I just wondered if anyone has added any 12" subs to their bonneville and what kind of enclosure did you use, where did you get it, and how does it fit, perform, etc. I can't wait to get it all in. My system will kind of be a mongrel system since the speakers are gonna be kenwood for 4 doors, rockford fosgate 6x9s and pioneer head unit, with MB court amp. But, I did match the RMS wattages to the best of my ability. At least it is all good quality components, any help on the enclosure would be great! J

Also I have a Complete wiring diagram for the 2000 SSEI bonneville stereo system bose amped, and if you have any questions such as what wire does what, feel free to ask..I will be glad to help if I can. If youre wondering how I did the headunit, I installed a gmos-09 from metra axxess to interface my radio to vehicle. It works beautifully..

I picked up the box this evening, got my amp wiring kit, and I will tackle it tomorrow. Gonna have the 6 speakers plus 2 subwoofers 12", plus the component tweets up front and component tweets in rear door. Should be pretty nice. 2 amps...one is a 6 channel for the speakers and a 500 watt amp to drive the subs. Really way more than I need, but what the heck. I like playing with this stuff. J

Hello IMMUSICMAN,

Sounds like a nice system you are putting together. I have also been looking at the Pioneer head units. Probably going to get one, but without the navigation. I would love to see how your install looks. Would you be able to post some pictures of it in the dash? Also, I have heard of limited depth in our dashes. With a double din unit, are they shallow enough to fit without modifications to the car?

Thanks for the help!

I will gladly post pictures for you..of the whole thing. Yes it is a tight fit, but it can be done without much trouble. I will tell you how I did everything when I post the pics. Thanks. j

Default Few pics taken at night

As promised, here are a few pics I took at night..I will take more tomorrow of everything else. Notice the pioneer head unit allows you to change the night lighting to any color, so I chose the orange to match the orange bonneville color. The last pic is me holding a precious newborn in my clinical just a few weeks back..nursing school has a few bright spots, but not many! I will post some nice day pics, and by the way..I finally got everything sounding pretty good..I put the 6x9 rockfords in place of the bose 6x9 speakers, I added the two 12 inch subs and the 6 channel amp for the speakers and another 2 channel for the subs. I had a bad engine noise problem but resolved it by cranking the gain back some on the amps and increasing the head unit signal to the amp. Worked, although I was skeptical at first..it did cure it. And just as a side note, those front bose speakers are sounding incredible with a real amp driving them! I hate to take them out and put my Kenwoods in. I can't believe the difference when you stick about 60 watts RMS to them, they sound incredible. I can't see how the kenwoods can get any better, but I have them, so I am going to use them.
