Anyone no how to remove the theft-loc feature on a tape deck. I "obtained" one from a boneyard and it has the lock on. Any help would be great!!

Good news and bad news is what I can give you.

Far as I know..and I don't know everything.

To unlock it you need the Vin# of the vehicle it was from...then hook it up and bring it to a dealer with that vin#. They call GM, get a unlock code and unlock you.

Others may have other ways around it, but I never heard of any other ways.

The bad news part is you probably don't have the vin#...hopefully you can get it. Or maybe go to the dealer since you'll have the */n on the radio as well.

There are ways around it with no VIN #, maybe an admin will come in and send it to you....

Do a google search on it. I think I saw a few places that could do it.

Hi 93PonchoSSE

This was passed on to me, you might give this a try and see if it will work for you

1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3
digits of the display code are displayed.

2. Write the numbers down.

3. Press the AM/FM button, write down the next 3 numbers.

4. Call 1 800 xxx xxxx, listen to the whole message carefully, when asked, enter 206010, press the # button and enter the 6 digit code from the radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down.

5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press MIN button and set the next two last numbers, press AM/FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio."
