Factory amp in 99 SSEi?
Hey, I was just wonderin if I indeed do have a factory amp in my 99 SSEi. If so, where is it? Also, I will be putting in my Alpine CDA-9831 this weekend, and I've heard talk of having to bypass the factory amp? Is this true? If it is, how do I do it, and if it is not true, how do I take advantage of it? I will still be using the stock speakers.
Thanks a lot.

I did this on my 97.
There was a seperate connector with an orange wire. Hook the power amp turn on to that orange wire.
You'll be all set once that'* hooked up.

Hmm, that did not help, the hu powered up and everything, but just no sound from speakers. Any other ideas, or do I need to get something to hook it up? Thanks for the help

Do you have an orange wire on a connector all by itself?
Hook the amp power on wire to it..make sure in your headunit that it'* powering that wire. Might be optional to power it.
