Default Anyone in the area

Anyone in the Area of Crystal Lake ,IL (20 mins from chicago and about 30 mins from rockford) That knows how to install an aftermarket HU on a 01 bonneville with the Metra GMRC-04 adapters thats willing to meet up with a stranger haha ... Dont really have the money to be spending on installations and im a complete nub when it comes to this ...

I just did the same install on my 02 Bonneville. Send me a PM and I can give you some pointers. If you're still stuck.. I may be flying up that way this week, it would cost you a beer for the install

How comfortable do you feel with a small hacksaw? Also,you have the GMRC04 with the chime module correct?

im not too shabby with the hack saw ... as long as im not doing something too serious ...im very new at Audio Installation ... Oh and yes i have the GMRC-04 adapter as well as the antenna for this model

I had to cut out the side pocket where the head unit goes to put the module in...as well as the back wall where the databus adapter is.. the space in there is very tight and the deck stuck out about an inch too far.

that is dependant on the style of adapter plate and the dimentions of the head unit, i didnt have to cut mine, but my adapter put the radio at the top of the opening
