thermometer sensor
I'm looking at getting an aftermarket thermometer for the ride. It has inside and outside temp. On the outside temp, it has a wire with a sensor on the end of it (not sure length of wire right now). Where would be the best place outside the car to put this sensor so the wind will not mess with the readings? It needs to be as close to the interior as possible for the wire.

Actually... I wouldn't put it in the stock location.
Personally I feel that GM made a mistake putting it there. You read some of the radiator temp.
Myself and all others I've heard of have noticed that the ECC reads about 3 degrees warmer and fluctuates when you stop.

Look at yours with the car warmed up vs the actual known outdoor temp. I think you'll find a couple of degrees. That is what I mean by fluctuating. You would probably see it once you are sitting still for a couple of minutes and the heat radiates to the sensor.

you always could get a STOCK rearview mirror with the temp, and then not have to worry about aftermarket stuff.......

Just to keep y'all up to date, I got the a/m thermometer and put the sensor by the driver'* side door hinge. On the package it was the recommended placement. It would work really good if the thermometer wasn't junk.
