Hey guys, a few weeks ago I was considering putting walmart speakers in my Bonnie, but after allot of thought I decided that I just want to get some decnt speakers and get it over with. I know I wouldn't be happy with the wally world speakers forever, and its pointless to buy cheap now and then just replace them later. There is a pic below of the stereo that I have in the car. I do not have nor do I want subs, so speakers with good Bass would be nice........

i would go al listen to a variety and see what you like

i agree 100% with pat, its very much personal preference, set a budget, and go out to a few stores ( dont just stick withe bestbuy/circuit city) and listen to everything around your budget and decide for yourself

Ok well what about an amp for these, that would give me more volume and bass as well correct?

Ok no more than 500 bucks......... For speakers and amp, I can install it myself.....

here'* the deal...

I normally reccoment CDT speakers because I love mine and they can be gotten for good prices. (not what is on their website, contact me if you are seriously looking into them)

Pat normally reccomends RF products because that is what he has and likes.

In general other people reccomend the common brands, Boston, Pioneer, infinity, etc

What kind of mustic do you listen to?
Are you willing to do the work for 6.5" speakers?
do you like bass?
do you hate bass?
do you like lots of treble?
Do you hate ear piercing highs?


Here is how I would break down 500 bucks.
Leave 100-150 for wires and misc supplies to mount the amp, seal the firewall, etc.
200ish to spend on the speakers.
Which will leave you with 150-200 for an amp. Which should be plenty.

I like bass, I like treble, I HATE ear piercing highs, I am will to do the work for 6.5 speakers and I listen to country rock and alternative...... Does that help?

UPDATE: I like CDT, they look really nice and the specs are impressive (although I am a novice when it comes to speakers) The only problem is they are REALLY expensive! I know that you said you could get a better deal so I guess i will discuss that with you either here or in a PM. I also looked at the rockford fosgate and I really don't care for them, I had some a few years ago in my grand am and they weren't what i was looking for sound wise. I have MTX home speakers and I love them, I mean they are the perfect speakers for everything I listen to, but I know that home speaker tecnology and car speaker tecnology are way different. I also had Polk momos in my blazer and they were pretty good but without an amp, I really wasn't able to benifit from there full performance. Also side note, amps. I know nothing about them, nor do I know how to hook up a four channel. Actually I am pretty good with wiring so I have an idea of how this needs to be done, but, a little guidence would be nice. First and for most I need 6X9 speakers, one of mine is totally shot and the other is on its way out. So I guess lets start there.......
