Default power wire, amp install part one with pics

I would like to show all how to pass a power wire through the firewall. I know that there is no pictures that show how to do a clean install with a 1/0 or a 2/0 wire. I know that people do not want to run the power wire over the STB and through the grommet, that makes the engine bay look like hell, I also know that people do not want to enter the door accordian tube.

so I investigated the engine bay and my FSM and found that there are only 3 places where there is a holein the fire wall, one is the Grommet on the drivers side and the other two are the main harnesses that run into the engine bay.

I ran my wire through the wire harness on the passenger side of the vehicle

remove the MaxiFuse relay center cover
locate the engine wire harness
remove the factory sealant to expose the plastic connector
remove the plastoc connecor with 7 mm bolts
drill a hole that is the size of your power wire

this is the most sensible position to run the wire. The factory wires are gluedto the plastic connector. you cannot remove these wires to get a power wire through there.

run the cable along the fender with the fuse, and have it rest on the coolant over flow bottle. The fuse has to be within 18 inches of the battery, the over flow bottle is a perfect spot for this

IN THE CAR. you will have to remove the glove box. there are 3 7mm bolts and then the glove box pulles right out. When the glove box is remove there is a alot of room in there. From the harness on the outside it is a direct shot here you can see where the power wire comes out at. this is looking towards the front of the vehicle

run the power wire away from the SIR and the PCM to avoid any problems

back to the outside:

make sure that you seal the off the area that the wire goes through with high quality sealant

take the factory sealant that is wrapped around the harness, and reapply it

finally reinstall the MaxiFuse relay center cover

and you have one clean install

there is a part 2 coming when the rain stops

Thank you for having big enough balls to drill a hole and run it that way and because of it you had a super simple install and it looks professionally done. Good Job!

Here'* something you can do to clean it up some more. See where the blue wire leads? It'* under the maxi-fuse cover When it'* in. That way, you never see the power wire. That point is connected directly to the battery.

ya that is a good point but I am running MAJOR power and need it directly off the battery. But I really like your install, that would work for people that are running less power.
