Default No sound coming from speakers after aftermarket stereo

I have a '99 SE

I got a new deck, but after it is hooked up and powered on there is no sound from the speakers. Everything is connected correctly as the cd player beeps still come through (the beeps when changing settings and such). I have heard it could be that there is a factory amplifier. If that is the case, where is that located, and what must I do in order to restore sound?

its highly unlikly that you would have a factory amp, because the se didnt come with the bose system.

My advice is to check and recheck the wiring. And if you have an extra deck lying around try putting that in to make sure the speakers still work.

if you do have a stock amp then it is prolly on the frame behind the back seats.

and if thats the case then you dont have the remote hooked up right or at all to the amp.

that is my gues, that is if you have a stock amp.

Can we get more details on the CD deck you have?

Can't find an amp anywhere so I don't think that'* the problem.

The deck is a Sony cdx-gt32w

It'* really weird because I can hear the beeps from the speakers, and a very faint fuzz (not the static type from a radio) but nothing else.

i would read the owners manual that came with the deck and see if there is something special you need to do.

Already looked through there. Couldn't find anything.

hmm, im sorta stumped, if youre positive the wiring is correct then is has to be something on the deck....

did you use a wiring harness or just wire it straight into the speakers?

Well my buddy was gonna install it, but fucked it up because he cut off the original connector from the car.

I took it to Best Buy and they wired it all out, but couldn't figure out the sound.

i would check the wiring with a diagram handy autozone has online wiring diagrams but they are pretty vague, at least they will tell you what color the wires should be

good luck on this one.. hope you get it figured out
