2000 Aftermarket Radio Reception
I have had my head unit installed for about 3 months and the other day I turned on the Am band to check for a baseball score when I flip over I noticed that the reception was very poor and I couldn't even really pick up anything it didn't even stop for a station when I scanned the whole AM side. This really isn't a major problem(until I am driving around during a football game ) but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this ? I checked to make sure the connection was tight and it actually got better reception when the connector was unplugged anyone have any ideas what'* up with this?? It'* just the AM side thats poor My FM reception is great

I got this e-mail a little while back about this problem, so I thought I would share it with everyone in case someone else comes across this problem. The link below has a nice write up about putting in a radio in a 2000+ bonneville and also tackles the AM radio problem that I had.
Much thanks to this fellow for helping me trouble shoot my problem and I hope this helps someone else

Hey, I had the same problem with my 2000 when I put a Sony in last year (http://homepage.mac.com/markhooton/radio_web.html). A dollar to a dougnut that you will need to connect to your antenna booster...(ceiling on drivers side just forward of the rear window)......
