The MECP testing is broken into modules. The most basic is for installer certification and others are for more specialized branches of mobile electronics. For example, I received my MECP certification many years ago and my certificate says "First class cellular speciallist". This means that I completed the installer module [minimum requirement for certification] and the cellular module. That'* probably why you didn't see too many box building questions, if any at all. That would be in the audio module.

Do you have the book? I noticed that most of the answers are verbatum as they are in the book.

Current MECP testing includes basic, first-class, then specialties in either autosound or security, then master level. That reminds me, I have to get around to renewing my first class. I started practicing for master...yeah, that one is a bit tough.

Dont you also have to have some experience working in the field in order to get the higher certifications?

I believe you have to be employeed in the field for at least one year to take the first-class exam. It'* been a few years since I've last had to deal with the testing, so my information is based on memory...which I definately wouldn't put any money on. :P
