What do I need to connect my iPod mini to my Pioneer Head Unit?
Does anyone have any experience hooking one up?

You'll need the pioneer interface. I know the alpine one was as simple as this:

iPOD -----------Ai Net Cable In ---------- Interface ------- Ai Cable Out ---------HEADUNIT

I know it will not be very difficult.... it'* well worth it considering you expand your music selection in the car by nearly 5k+ songs.

you will need an iPod ready headunit first of all. Not all pioneer headunits are capable of controllin the iPod. One thing most can do however, is have an RCA input IN by using an adapter that accepts RCA cables and then plugs into the pioneer headunit VIA the bus plug on the back. (the one used for cd changers and the like.) The adapter is something like $30.

seeing as to how the 6600 is capable of doing this he can hookup the interface.

go buy a $6 cord from radio shack...

1/8 stereo to RCA, and hook it up to your input on the deck, and run the cord under the dash...

last time i was at best buy, they did have a direct connection for every type of cd player they sold though

Mine was free my computer teacher gave me one...its a POS lol. Gunna buy a monster one but there lik 30$. I dont like the iPod ready HU. I change songs alot and the iPod is set up very well for changeing songs fast and i like useing it instead of pressing tiny buttons on my Clarion HU.

I shopped around, the cheapest stereo jack to RCA cable at bestbuy was like $20. I found one on e-bay for $.01. The bus adapter I needed was the RB-CD10, which I got for a little over $30 off ebay. Definitly better than buying a FM transmitter.

but to make ur set up even better buy this charger, it has an audio out so all u do is connect the dock connecter and it charges and plays music at the same time, also gives the set up a cleaner look.

it is worth every penny, the only trick part is how u mount the ipod, i have an ipod mini so mounting it was very simple, i just screwed the belt clip into the black trim piece next to the ECC, make sure u do not hit any wires. Then put a bolt on the screw to keep it in place. I ran the wires behind the trim piece and down along the console and used the back cigarette lighter.

If u dont have a ipod mini you can buy a belt clip or use a vent mount. Either one works good.

Ok, I found the RB-CD10 on ebay for $25 and a 6' cable to attach the iPod to it for $.01. Thats right, one cent. The connection to the iPod is a little loose, but the price is definitly right. I just put mine in the center console cupholder and turn it so I can see the display. That way when I take it out of the car I can tuck the wire to the side of the seat and there is no evidence of an iPod.
