Default Is Pyramid an ok brand?

I am looking for a semi-cheap woofer, and speaker upgrade in my car. (still stock on a premium system) My friend did his entire car including all 4 speakers, 2 amps, 2 woofers, a sub-box, and 2 caps for about $500. These are all Pyramid brand products. He seems to be getting decent sound for such a cheap system. Would do you guys think?

Pyramid is crap. Flea market crap. If you want cheap, Walmart sells the entry level Pioneer products (both head units and speakers). Whats the difference if you spend $1,000 now on completely redoing your whole car on GOOD quality stuff or $500 twice becuase you blew it out within 6 months.

I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-P750MP head unit, a 12" Memphis sub in custom made fiberlgass box, and a HiFonics American Warrior series amplifier driving both the subs AND THE FACTORY SPEAKERS!

You may just want to look at an amplifier to get better/louder sound to your speakers...unless they are blown. Regardless, Pyramid is crap.

Uhmm all I remember is like 5 years ago when I first got into car audio I had a 1500watt pyramid amp... and it weights less then my 730watt pioneer and it was 2x as big.... The amp was **** and their subs blow major ***....
I mean give me a break... go buy some Kenwood Tornado'* and a decent Pioneer amp... you can get that for prolly the same if not cheaper and it will sound 10x better then the distorted POS pyrimid subs...

As the old saying goes "you get what you pay for". My personal all time favorite saying goes for a pyramid system too - "Penny wise, dollar foolish"

They are ****, usually do about 1/4 of their rated power, as compared to Fosgate, JBL and many companies only a few here have heard about that actually under rate their power.
