Default Marine Audio Question

Not sure if I can post non-Bonny audio questions here but...the parent'* boat has a p.o.*. head unit, circa 1994 whose audio suddenly turned very faint. I don't believe it'* a speaker issue as all speakers dropped in decibels at the same time. All connections are tight but you can barely hear it. Is the head unit just tired? I'm going to try to bench test it first before I run out and buy them a new one.

Thanks.

yeah pretty much, but beyond just waterproof I would assume it is designed so that moisture cant make its way in and rust all the solder connections and such on the inside.

When you add 'marine' to a piece of audio equipment the price doubles. Exact same thing just more weather resistant. Car audio would work fine as long as it doesnt get wet, which is possible in some boats.
