i would love to recommend you a panasonic like i would have about a month ago, but things have changed. about a month ago my cd player started acting up, not ejecting cd, and code error 3. i took it all apart and found what i thought was the problem, then i couldnt get it back together to work. i found a panasonic tech center online and drove an hour and half to have them look at it. it cost $65 cuz i had messed with it and screwed up the warrenty. it worked fine on the drive home, until i was ON MY STREET, same error, same everything. it turns out that to fix the unit, the tech had put in a new $2 transistor. i figured this thing blew again, so i was super frustrated. the next day i drove again 1.5 hours to drop it off. they took it, and called 2 days later. "no problems with the unit, have had it running on the bench for 2 days straight' WTF!!! so i go there the next day and pick it up. im drivin home and im about 10 min away from home, and the same error come up, WTF x2!!!!!!!!!!!...i instantly took the unit out of the dash on the side of the road, it was about 200 degrees, i could barely get it out without burning myself. i called teh shop and totally complained. i demanded not driving this far again, cuz i could have got a new unit from what it has cost for gas by now, (gotta love the premium gas prices). they sent out a ups pickup tag, and i had it shipped there the next day. i called in yesterday to see the progress on this, FINALLY the same error came up at the shop, and they now believe me that this thing is wack! i guess they made a claim to panasonic asking for a whole new circut board, so hopefully all the twirks will be out. i wont have to pay anymore, cuz i signed some warrenty card from them saying i got it as a gift or something, whatever....as long as i dont pay. anyways, as soon as i get the unit back, im selling it, i dont want a jinx on my car again. i will prolly still stick with the same unit, just not that one! oh btw, it was a panasonic cq-dfx983u, awesome looking display, not the greatest audio tuning controls, but overall my favorite of all i have seen.
wow this post got long sorry, but i just needed to vent
