yes it is possible, that is a ready to rock sub/amp combo and IIRC has a line level input for running it off of the rear speakers if you dont have RCA outputs for subs on your headunit

if anyone here chimes in that has one i would like to know how well it works as that would be a helluva lot easier and more space saving than the custom boxes i was going to build

Yeah, I have one in a different car and it sounds awesome...
I just wasn't sure if it could be hooked up to the stock head unit in the SSEi or not....

so it will for sure wire into the stock head unit? I was thinking about this because i just want a little more bass as well and i dont wanna go out and buy an aftermarkey HU and an amp and subs. How much do these run by the way? Also do they make different models with higher wattage amps? Is it hard to install?

anywho i'm bored so here you go:(btw this took all of 5 minutes to dig up)
Infinity - Car Audio <--manufactures web page
ERIES MODEL DESCRIPTION
BassLink® Series BASSLINK Self-Amplified Subwoofer System
BassLink® Series BASSLINK II 250-Watt Powered Subwoofer System
BassLink® Series BASSLINK T Low-profile powered subwoofer system
The Battle of the Giants: Infinity'* BassLink vs. Kenwood'* wOOx <---Infinity'* BassLink vs. Kenwood'* wOOx
infiniti basslink - Google Product Search <---price of baselinks
yes it will work with ANY stock headunit. it'* made exactly for the purpose of adding bass easily without having to add in an aftermarket HU and take up a lot of space. personally they don't add nearly enough bass for me but if it'* enough for you then go head and get it. for some it is especially for a starter system.
personally i would add in an AM headunit:
get a hell of alot better SQ
get to play mp3s
get to have sat radio
rca output for better sq related signal
and even a cheap arse 50 blaupunk is better then your stock radio fwiw...like night and day better.
hope this helps and remember google is your friend.
oh and you still have to get power to it obviously. these don't run on no D batteries.
edit:
for the price you can buy a single 12 in a box with an amp and it would be louder, better sq, better everything and same amount of space displaced.
edit2:
get the BASSLINK II, if you have your heart set on basslinks, I just read the stats hell of alot better the passive radiator is sweet. i'm a HUGE fan of them. as for the square woofer...
edit 3:
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3994 <--crap amp but it would be louder/sound better etc. and you could always upgrade the amp later.
check out their package deals or make up your own.
