extra radio wires???
Hello,
This is my first post to this forum.
Ok I have an aftermarket JENSEN H/U in my 1990 gta and I want to remove
it as I might sell the car.
I found a H/U from a 1998 buick century with cd player (has cassette with it
but not many still use cassettes).
The wiring seems pretty straight forward as I have done a search on this website and some others (the12volt.com).
The problem I have is there are extra wires and I don't want to mess this thing up (got it at a junkyard so don't know if it even works to start with).
pic:
If you look at lefthand portion of the harness there are 2 yellow wires,
2 green wires, orange and gray.
The orange and gray are no problem but according to the wiring information I located, there is a yellow wire that connects to 12v swicthed.
Which one do I use and what do I do with the extra yellow wire?
Next, there is no mention of a connection for the 2 green wires. What do
these wires connect to?
If someone has any insight or even better a wiring diagram of what pins go where, that would be greatly appreciated.
Help, please. I can't take not have music in my car.
Craig

the only things you have to worry about in a 90 is 12v and switched 12v ground and speakers, unless you have a pwer ant. the extra stuff could be options or some of them started being hooked up to the comm
you going to post a pic in the your rides section? gta was my favorite body style

The green wires i'm not too worried about for I saw no connections for a green wire except for speakers.
There is a distinct connection for a yellow wire, but the problem is there are 2 yellow wires. Which one do I need??????????
As far as a pic of my car, eventually. Doesn't look to good right now.
I just need a schemaic/wire diagram of any gm 1998 stock radio to help me out.

These schematics are for my 97 Bonneville, but should carry over to pretty much everything 96-99. Many electrical items in these Buicks, Pontiacs share the same electrical systems, but only the bodies are different.
Lemme know if you need a different schematic because I have different listings for the Bose systems too.
