4x6 Speakers

I have them on my 93, and i dont think many others do

only 92-and early production with the 93 SE's with out the premium sound had 4x6 in the front doors. in the later years the SE with out premium sound got hte 5 1/4 in the door but a business card holder instead of a tweeter

The base audio system in the 87-91's got the 4x6's in the dash, but the performance sound option got 5 1/4's in the door, and tweeters on the front two doors, and on the rear deck, along with the twin 6x9's. I believe the 5 1/4's and 6x9's were on both base and performance sound systems..

I just put a page on my cardomain site with the 4x6 picture, I think it was from a 93 SE standard model. Looks like I need to update the info based on SLEs remark, which is fine with me since I want it to be correct.

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/699088/4 has the pics.

On the 87-91 models, the 6x9s on the base system did not have the 2nd voice coil for the gain control. Would it be possible to put 5 1/4s in the doors of a 92 anyway? You might have to change the door panels or something but it would probably sound better than dash speajkers.

I am sure that the holes in the door where the 5 1/4 mounts is the same from an LE to an SSE. The 3 1/2 tweeters are another story. I can't remember if mine mount to the door, or the door panel. If they mount to the panel, anyone could do it..

for the later bonnies.. I don't know.. I don't think so, because of the different panel design, but it could be possible. I don't know the years all that well.

there are 5 different door panels from 92-99

92-93 4x6
93-95 5.25 and tweeter
93-95 5.25 and business card holder
96-99 5.25 and tweeter
96-99 5.25 and business card holder

it is possible to swap a 4x6 door with one that has a 5.25 and tweeter. The door is made of 2 parts. the part where the speaker is mounted and the pocket of the door are held in by a couple of screws on the 92-95 models only. 96-99 the door is one piece
