Is my amp blown?
I have an American Pro 400 watt amp. I when I hook every thing up and put the ground wire or power wire on the fuse blows. I'm not sure if im not hooking it up right or if it is completely screwed. My friend also put it in his car, and it done the same thing he has aprofessionally ran wires and everything. what wrong with my amp

If it'* not the wiring of power ( you said you tried it on your friends which was professionaly run ) that blew it.. it'* internal within the amp.. do you have warrenty on it still? If so.. use it before it expires.. if not.. then open it up and check for any loose wiring from the power back ( you can also look for some lil black or gray splash mark which maybe caused from short explosions within ). This is when the good ol multimeter comes in handy and you can trace the positive to ensure it'* continuaty and negatives too to see where the short maybe from.. or even a blown diode or cap and such.

try hooking it up one more time..follow these steps
1. unhook battery
2. find a good place for a ground...make sure no paint is on it...grind it off...then attach it tight so that it has a good connection.
3. attach positive....w/ no fuse in yet
4. check specs on amp on box or on website...check what fuse is suppose to be used...and put the correct one in....
5. make sure remote wire is hooked up properly..
6. connect the battery...if it blows right away when you hook up the battery you have a problem somewhere inbetween the amp and deck...because if you have the REM wire hooked up right the fuse wont blow til you turn the deck on.
7. turn on deck and turn bass down...
8. check fuse
9. if it still blew, check warrenty info....
also where is your fuse located...its "suppose" to be 18" from the battery...but like on mine i have it in the back of the car off my splitter...so...good luck...any questions ask...!

I think hes talking about the fuse on the AMP?? If its the fuse on the amp then maybe its the wrong size... Check the users manuel to find right size if not printed on amp it self. If that is the right size... Check that ou are putting positive to positive and ground to ground... 
. And if that doesnt work.. I would removove the cover and look at the power supply... If its a dark color that means its bad. It should be a bright to mid copper or sometimes red. :?
