3 12's

Hi wassup guys i was wondering if anyone knew how to hook up 3 12" subs to a mono block amp meaning one channel cause i have 3 kickers cvrs and a brustus 1900 watt amp and i know i can pound hard if hooked up right

How many voice coils on the subs and what Ohm? What Ohm Load can your amp safely handle?

Once you have that info you can start to figure out how to wire them up.

I would help out and look up the subs and amp, but im on my way out the door to work

i think the amp is 2 ohm stable if i recall

it will help if we know if they are dual voice coil and what ohm the subs are normally set at

To clarify, here is a 3 sub set up based on what Ohm the voice coils are of the subs and how many coils per sub:

----3 Subwoofers--- Possibilities:

2-ohm DVC 1.34-ohm load or 3-ohm load
4-ohm DVC 2.67-ohm load
4-ohm SVC 1.34-ohm load
8-ohm SVC 2.67-ohm load

**DVC = Dual Voice Coil
**SVC = Single Voice Coil

Ok so your subs are Dual 4 Ohm. How low will your amp load to? 2 Ohms, 4 Ohms, 1 Ohm?

Post the amps model number and I will try and get some more info if ya want.

your going to want a pretty good amp if you are running out of specs and want it to last.

i have a brutus 1900watt amp is called bx1905d and 3 kicker cvr dvc subs and the amp is a mono block

Your Brutus amp can handle a 1 ohm load however, your coil configuration doesnt allow you to wire it up at 1 ohm but a 2.67 Ohm which will give your subs around 1250 watts or so.

You want to wire them in series like so:

The thing to be careful of is your gain setting. It is NOT intended to be used as a volume adjuster. The gain is used to set the input sensitivity which tells your amp how fast to go to full power based on your stereos volume setting.

Typically, you want to set your gain all the way down at first and turn up your stereo to about 3/4 ways. then go to the amp and turn it up until your subs distort, then back it down until the distortion goes away and your set.
