double din stereo for cheap?
hey all. ive been hinted that im getting a rather large (atleast to me) gift card to paypal. and since i cant really buy things in the real world with paypal (gas insurance etc) ive decided to splurge a bit and get yet another headunit. assuming its cost effective. im also wanting to blow some on a crappy cheap radar detector that i want to use on one road. (no need for an escort beltronics or valentine here)
so ill have about $300 to blow. i know not much but what are ya gonna do. right now ive got a pioneer dehp5200hd and i "upgraded" from a dehp6000ub
wuite honestly i think i should have just bought the hd add on for the first one. because one, i miss the motorized faceplate, its just cool lol and 2, the new one only displays one line of text which is really annoying. ill get half the song name and have to push the little magnifying glass 3 times to cycle thru artist album station then back to the song and i have to watch it scroll like a ticker tape verrry slowllyyyyyy lol.
im not interested in swapping speakers because the ones i have are excellent non amped. i read somewhere theyre basically delco branded bose speakers. id consider adding bass sometime in the future but i realize you cant add good bass for $300 lol.
basically im looking to get a good decent double din stereo that will fit in the same width as a non trim plated single din. for some reason my car has a duct right behind the stereo so you cant push it back so you cant use the recessed trim piece to cover the cage.furthermore the curved in hole curves in too far for the protruding trim. so i ended up taking a sharpie to the cage lol. dimensions are limited lol
requirements include but arent limited to, hd radio built in, ipod compatibility/tagging built in the ability to display more than one line of text (obviously) sattelite expandability and easy preset buttons. the pioneers have the click wheel that works really well with gloves on. you just tilt the wheel up or down on its axis and you can go up or down in the 6 presets.
not required but id love bluetooth built in, and id also like the ability to buy a harness to recommission the steering wheel controls.
if you made it to this point, thanks for all your help! im going to be doing my own research but i figured it was worth a shot to post here for suggestions.
here are the pics of my stereos.
the old one non hd with the fold down faceplate (the wires were for an external hd radio adapter a friend gave me that was garbage)
the new one that i dont like
they both have the same exposed cage the only difference is the 2nd pic, the cage is sharpied over lol
thanks alot!

this is the one id feel more comfortable buying but the only deal breaker is the itunes tagging
http://cgi.ebay.com/Jensen-VM8023HD-...ht_2775wt_1139
can anyone find someplace that says? whether or not it does?
thanks a million!
