Default Anyone know how to fix amps?

My 500w Memphis Class D blewup over 3yrs ago and I had it looked at. They said 6 Resistors were burnt.

Anyone willing and able to try to fix it for free or cheap?

Resistors are an easy fix. But you will need to know the resistance values of the ones that got damaged. See if you can get a hold of the tech support and see if they can send you that amps schematic and parts list.

I have the amp here. The resistors are pulled out of it allready and in a baggy.

I don't know if it will help but they say

SEC 808 IRFZ44A

on them

Those are actually MOSFET Transistors made by International Rectifier. The number sounds familiar. I believe they are a common part. You can get them at Digi-Key.

Many times, when the MOSFETS blow, something else went first, or they took other parts with them when they blew. How do you know this is the problem? Who removed them?

The place where I took it to get looked at is an electonics repair shop. They told me that the resistors were blown and they removed them. I told them I didn't have the $$ to get it fixed at the time(and still don't) so they put them in a baggy and sent it on its way with me.

Thats all they wrote on the recipt.... 6 resistors blown

That is really scary

Anyone that claims to know electronics SHOULD know that an IRFZ44A is NOT a resistor. :? It is a TRANsistor

I'm a MECHANICAL engineer and I know better.
