Default Right Outer TieRod

How much vibration can this cause when driving highway speeds and any estimates on how much this will cost me?

Depending on various conditions, it could cause quite a bit of vibration. I take it that it has already been confirmed bad? You doing the work, or taking it in?

They're really pretty easy to do, but if you're taking it in, I'd guess maybe $200 or so, with the alignment.

30 bucks or so for the part, 75ish for labor and 60 for an alignment i would say 150-200 depending on the shop, anything over 200 i think is too much

A lot of it will depend on the part they install. Checking Advance - they have the TRW tie rod end for about $32. The Moogs go for about $50. The retail for the GM part is about $83.

Default Second opin

Yeah, I would definitly get a second opinion if your not 100% sure. My local Pontiac dealer said both my inner and outter on the right needed to be replaced and they were gonna charge me $550.00! Took it to a local shop and they said the only thing wrong was the tires were out of balance.

I just got my tires balanced and i know its an outer tierod. got a question though, do you always have to get an alignment when getting new tierods? and if you dont, will it cost vibrations?

if you dont get the new alignment, it will cause incorrect tire wear, and you really dont want that with new tires....it will be a close guess when the new tierod is installed...the alignment will make it perfect

Default outer tie rod replaccement charge

Total was $252. $86 for the tie rod, then they had to realine it.

http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=61807

Had loose stering wheel and took it in 3 times to get it fixed.

Vibration prob might be the tires, try a new set.
