X2

Likely your are low on power steering fluid. If that'* not it, get back here and we'll help.

Let us know what you find.

Default Me too....

I noticed that when I turn the wheel at speeds over 45 mph I hear a kind of high pitched sound. I thought maybe it was a belt. Also at speeds over 45 I tend to feel a repeatitive vibration throughout the whole car. Related?

Austin, as we haven't heard back from dubduece on his issue yet and don;t have enough info to know if yours is related, it would be best if you start your own thread and provide as much detail as possible.

Whining while turning can be many things, with the most common three perhaps: low power steering fluid, power steering pump issues, and wheel bearings. The only way to know what you have is to be very specific and to follow a diagnostic as it'* provided by the best here (based on your information).

Default Hose was leaking on mine.

Had mine doing the same thing 5 months ago. Of course it was low on power steering fluid (because the hose on the pump was leaking).

probably is wrong, but possibly is the sound of the belt because the pump could be seizing? maybe from long period of low PS fluid? or yeah, just fluid.

Default Thanks...

Thanks for the advice, I'll check the PS fluid tomorrow, though the I haven't heard the sound since Friday. Maybe the Bonnie gods have smiled on me.
