Default aftermarket air intake tube/hose

I've done some searching here and via google, but either the info is hard to find or my search techniques suck. And it'* too damn cold to go out and take things apart for measurements, so I'm going to just ask it... what diameter intake hose/pipe would I need for my 01 SLE if I were to add a CAI or perhaps just gut the stock box and replace the stock intake 'hose' with a smooth bore piece of pipe or hose? 3.5"?

If you are ok spending a little cash I would look for a used Wizaird setup, it is an insulated box with smooth but flexible piping, if you have a hard pipe it might crack when the engine is moving around

It says it does not work on the Bonneville when the battery is on the drivers side so it should work with ours

Thanks, folks, very much appreciated. Going to look at a DIY job first, there'* some satisfaction in that if it works. If not, perhaps one of the aftermarket systems will find its way under the hood.

ZZP and intense sell the hose by the foot. You need about 2 feet or so. Then a pair of hose clamps and a filter.
