New tires...same vibrations.
Had some new BFG KDWS'* installed Saturday morning hoping my vibrations would diminish. Not the case unfortunately. I knew in the back of my mind that they would probalby not solve it but I had to try. I'm going to take it to another shop tomorrow to have them check the balance again and then I guess I'll either live with it or sell it. Tires were road-forced balanced by the way.
New tie-rod ends, fresh rotors and pads all the way around and now new tires. Doesn't seem possible that the vibrations would not be any better. I'm going to have them check the rear-alignment tomorrow as well but I'm guessing it is probably fine. Getting tired of throwing money at this problem on a 49K mile car.
I owe the factory Goodyear RS-A'* an apology. I figured they were the culprit. If anybody is interested in them, they will be posted in the FOR SALE section within a few days. Heck, maybe I should put them back on and sell the new BFG'*!!!

Wow, it'* true what they say--the machine is only good as the man using it. Took the car into my local Pontiac/Mercedes dealer today where I've had good luck in the past (they were closed on Saturday or I would have gone there first). The fronts are smooth as glass now and the rears are better. They checked the rear alingment and the right-rear was off a bit (which explains why the old tire has a funny wear pattern). Vibration is still there in the rear but quite a bit better now. They said the two rear tires are out-of-round a bit. I have a feeling they may just be telling me this because they couldn't completely get it smooth back there (they road-tested it). In there defense, they may be right, as they have two massive weights on the left-rear.
I called Tirerack and to my surprise, they are sending me two replacements, no questions asked. We'll see how the new ones do.
Thought I would give an upadate as I know there are a lot of 2000+'* who are dealing with vibrations.

my friend used his ebrake to slide around a parking lot with his fwd sedan. he put flat spots on his rear tires. that was 1 year ago and the car still has vibrations from the rear. i keep telling him to put them on the front and do a good long burnout to fix his problems

Two new rears were installed this morning. No change. Very frustrating. I may trade it in or sell it on my own before I rack up more miles.
