Will my Lower intake Manifold gasket need replacing?
Just purchased a used 3.8 L67 for my 02 SSEI. The engine has 42k miles on it. should i replace the LIM now? I had to replace the one on my original motor at 73k miles.
and if i replace now is this all i need to buy? FEL-PRO Part # MS959771 http://i39.tinypic.com/1239q8n.jpg |
That would be a good idea. Just make sure you get the improved aluminum gaskets.

do u know what year GM started to use the improved design? and if so do u know where to look on the block for the production date? i'm not sure what year this engine was made. just know it's direct replacement for 00-05

Not sure when they started using the new gaskets. But these are what you want to use.

OK Dan......
help me with my parts list... I was so focused on getting an engine i didn't think about tuneup parts I think i'm just gonna order everything from INTENSE. Here's my list so far what am i forgetting? http://i44.tinypic.com/2ueiuc2.jpg |
You will need a supercharger gasket, and a throttle body gasket. Other then that I think you have it all.
Edit. And 2 rubber O rings for the coolant, and you migh tneed the coolant elbows. If I think of anything else I'll add it. |
thanks
