Today I was washing my car and about half way through I saw through the glass water leaking inside. When I opened the door I saw streams of water going down the A-Pillers flowing down to the windsheild. Then I looked over and saw water dripping and streaming from the control panel which houses the sunroof/homelink/map light controls. There was water leaking from all the buttons/controls completly soaking the center console and gear shift.

Now I realize of course that the sunroof gutters do sometimes get blocked so after I cleaned up the major mess I took some water and poured it in the sunroof and watched to see if it was making its way out of the car. I did see water dripping down from behind both front wheels. But it wasn't really flowing out in a stead stream, more like frequent dripping. So this makes me wonder how if the sunroof is draining, how did that amount of water find its way in? Any suggestions? Its the rainy season in Florida (perfect timing) and I'd like to have this solved before the next storm. Thanks.

Your A pillars pull off pretty easily, I would take em off and try pouring water .There is a plastic hose connected to the drain at sunroof maybe it is partially connected.My rear one disconnected.

If you have an air compressor you can try and clear the clog out by blowing some compressed air into the drain holes from the top of the sunroof. It'* a pain but usually once you clean out the drain you'll be fine for a long time afterwards.

Well, there was water draining from the holes. I'm just not sure how fast the water is supposed to come out. When the drains are clear does the water still just drip out or does it come out in a stream?

The tubes are about 3/8". You should have a pretty good amount flowing.

WOW!!!!! That looked like one Heck of a project. Luckily, Im not sure I have that bad of a problem. It rained here very bad last night for over an hour. When I went out to see how bad the damage was, to my amazement, there was no water intrusion. The only reasonable thing I can come up with is that perhaps the sunroof wasn't seated correctly for some reason and when I was washing it more water was able to get in and overwhelm the drains. The rain last was pretty bad last night so I have to assume it was enough to duplicate the problem I had earlier in the day with a hose. Judging from that picture of the water flowing down and out from Haro'* project, that looks about how mine was drianing too so I assume my drains are clear. I'll do some more investigation to see if anything else is going on. But opening your door and seeing water pouring out from around the map lights is a scary things to see. Luckily all the electrical still works up there...for now.

if you had water there, it means your tray could not keep up, and it seaped over the top of the tray. this means one of a few things, your drain lines are actually plugged, your lines are not plugged, but your sunroof seal is not good so its letting more water in than it is made to handle...

i'd check the closed position of the sunroof to make sure you have a very level seal.

The only thing I can say about the seal itself is that when closed, the front part of the glass seems to dip a little bit lower than the back of the glass. But I think its always been like that since I've had the vehicle. I agree that the drainage could not keep up with the amount of water coming in, but my suspicision is that its one: the back drains have a problem or two: the seal is not able to keep out as much water as it once did. Though I am totally confused as to why I didn't see any water intrusion after the rain last night. Question though, if I pour say a cup of water into the tray where it drains out, how long should it take for that water to vacate? When I did it yesterday it took about a min. Also, when draining about every 3-5 seconds I would see a bubble come from the drainage port.

1 cup of water took a minute? you definately have a clogged drain line(*)!
