Early B-day gift from the hubby
I've showed the hubby some of the cars on here with the nicely painted calipurs and slotted and drilled rotors, and told him i'd like to do mine. Well he surprised me with a early b-day gift (b-day Aug 6) take a look.

What are some problems that i could run into Bill? We're in a bit of a heatwave here so i't won't be done anytime soon, so any input would be greatly appreciated so i can return the rotors and just get the premiums. Thanks all

Deb, unless you know whether the holes were cast in or drilled in, don't use them. That'* MY advice, backed up by a bit of research. Cast in is preferred. Drilled rotors are strictly a cosmetic thing, and do look great, but they aren't designed for a street application. They're for dedicated track cars, and are often replaced after EACH race.
The holes cause microcracking and weaken the rotor, besides reducing the breaking surface. They may allow them to cool faster, but their lifetime is reduced by this. The holes don't work as well as the slots to remove pad gasses, and they don't do a think for shedding water like the slots do. Slotted rotors with ceramic pads are preferred.
In addition, many brake shops now refuse to turn cross-drilled rotors because of the liabilities.

Thanks Bill...the hubby and i are gonna return them tomorrow and go with the NAPA Premiums. I don't think they have just the slotted but will ask first. Thanks for all the input Bill and Kennginn....
Kennginn- Do you know if NAPA has just slotted rotors?

I'd hold out for slotted if NAPA doesn't have them. www.rsmracing.com has them, and that'* the brand I have on my car.
If NAPA has them, by all means try 'em, but put a good set of ceramic pads on them. I'm running Raybestos Quiet-Stop ceramics, but there are other alternatives. Don't hesitate to pay a little extra for a name brand, or something a place like NAPA will back with a warranty (most of NAPA'* parts are made by major quality manufacturers).
