Wet carpet behind the driver seat - WHY?! Please help.
 

Can anyone help me? I discovered the carpet behind the drivers' seat is wet. No idea why. That is the only damp carpet in the car. WHY???

A shop in town wants $130 to fix it. And the price can only go up!

Any ideas?

I had the same problem, only I had a lake behind mine. I took it to the dealer to fix it, but it took them 4 tries to get it right. It happend after a big rain and when I parked at home. Only because I parked on an incline with the front of my car pointing up. Like I said each time the dealer thought that they fixed the problem. They found multiple area's on the car that the factory forgot to plug or weld closed. Hope you have better luck than I did. Mine is now completely fixed. :x

First thing you gotta do is dry up that water, use towles to blot it out and then a fan to air dry it. Your control harness for the air bags runs threw there and you dont want the connections to short and the bags to deploy.

To test for leaks:
Remove any trim that might obstruct your view like the rear door panel. Move drivers seat all the way forward.
Have a helper inside the vehicle to detect the actual leak point.
Use a hose with no nozzle (unrestricted water flow).
Aim the water so that the water falls only on the window side or only on the body panel side of a weatherstrip, or tape across the weatherstrip between the body panel and the weatherstrip.
Remove the tape and test again. This will help in determining whether the leak is between the weatherstrip and the window or between the weatherstrip and the retainer.
Begin the water test at the base of suspected leak area and move slowly upward.
Mark the location of the leak.

The 2000 + Bonnevilles seem to have a history of failed water deflectors. The water deflectors (sealed with butyl strips around perimeter) are located internal to the doors and should keep water outside of the passenger compartment.

Well, I ran water down the seams around the door and around the windows. Nothing. No leaks found.

but, I did notice that my sunroof did sit uneven with the roof of the car. I remember reading where someone had leaks as a result of something like this. I adjusted it so that it would sit flush.

Could that have been the problem???

Sounds like you found the problem, did you hose down the sunroof too after you leveled it up? there are drain tubes off the sunroof, hope their not bunged up?
