Default Pressure Sensor?

There is a pressure sensor (integral part of upper intake manifold) located right side of engine just forward of alternator. Is this for manifold pressure? Does it input to the ECM? Just curious, trying to better understand the 3800, thanks. :?:

I believe it is the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor. Just trying to get smart with some of the components top of this L36 engine.

I think you're right....but if I recall, some of the older Bonnevilles didn't have it. Anyone know what year it started?
