Default Heated Seat

My drivers side heated seat seems to have stopped working. When you turn the switch on to turn the heated seat on, it shuts its self off in about 1-2 seconds. All the controls for the seat work. Up, down, back, forward, lumbar... etc... Anybody have experience with this..?

90% of the time it is the heating element in the seat. It happened to me a couple months ago and is very simple to replace. If you pull your seat out and pull your cover off, you might be able to see either the broken wire, or a burn spot on the element. You could solder the wire back together, but you are better off just replacing the element. I'm not postive, but I think I got my element for $115. Than once you have the cover off, cut back the wires from the old element as far as you can, and stick the new element right over the old one. DO NOT try to take off the old element because you will end up tearing up all the foam on the seat. Run the new wires through the existing holes and than you are all set to warm your bum once again.

Excellent, thanks for the reply. I will check it out. It may note be for a while, since we are into the warm weather, but I will hang onto this note for reference..
