2000 Bonneville SE rear brake noise
I inherited my parents 2000 SE a few months ago and the rear brakes have been making a low pitched humming when stopping. I imagine that they are worn down and need replacing but I have been told that my car has two different braking systems. A mechanic at Midas told me they were drums and another mechanic when I was getting it inspected, told me they were disc brakes. Like I said, it'* a 2000 Bonneville SE and I was hoping you guys could shed some light on the subject for me. Also, what'* a good place to get replacement parts for these? (on the cheap preferably) Cheers, Paul

You could replace them yourself. They aren't hard to do.

I just redid my rear brakes on my '00 SLE last weekend. It took about 15 minutes per side. I got my rotors and pads at Napa, $82 and change. It definitely has disc brakes in the rear though. You would be money ahead to do it yourself, its a good thing to know how to do.
