Vacuum Hose Location???
I'm going to do the SeaFoam Motor Treatment thing today...and I understand the instructions in relation to the vacuum hose. However, because Im not really a car guy, I dont know where the appropriate vacuum hose is located.
If anyone could give me a pic of an engine with the proper hose circled, or something similar, I would be GREATLY appreciative. Thanks in advance! |

I don't have a picture of your engine, but hopefully, this will work. Most use the large vacuum hose that goes from the UIM to the brake booster. In the picture below, it's the large hose that is under the strut tower brace (you won't have one), and behind the transmission fluid dip stick...the red one.

I think I've located the correct one (the one that is disconnected in the above picture) however the engine will NOT stay started with that sucker disconnected. Is that supposed to happen? |
Anybody..? I'm going to ask a Moderator to move this to "GENERAL", as I think it's more appropriate there.

With that large of vacuum leak, you need to have the idle higher. Remove your site shield from the engine, and push on the the cables for the throttle to raise it. While you're starting it, you may want to lightly connect the vacuum hose back up, then once raising it some, pull it off. The whole job is a lot easier with two people. ;)
