Its a known issue. You need to replace the upper intake plenum with a redesigned version. The redesigned kit includes a redesigned stovepipe design that prevents contact of the hot metal to the plastic.

What year and engine type do you have?
A typical problem as stated is the EGR stove pipe cracking the plastic due to the heat. The coolant passages go right past the EGR stove pipe and start to leak in to the intake. Your options are, a new UIM, or block off the coolant passages that go in to the UIM. Not much need for them, it just runs a little coolant up to the throttle body.

Make sure you don't forget to change that stovepipe so it doesn't happen again.
