Default stalling out on the highway

newbie needs help! i have a 2000 bonne with a 3.8 and 70k miles. last week she started stalling out at slow speeds, no misfire or chuging ( just died like the ign. key was turned off ) starts right back up . did this 4-5 times . next day she dies on the highway , stumbles to start but does. made it another 2 miles and die again. appears to do this after about 15 min. from start up. put her in the shop replaced the crankshaft sensor, ign. switch, idle air and engine control modules. still having trouble

Add your year and trim to your sig so we can help you easier.
Does the service engine soon light come on? are there any codes available?
Check the under hood fuse panel, make sure its tightend down well.

Does it start hard after it sits a while? I had the same symptoms you are having along with the hard starting I mentioned. It was the fuel pressure regulator. About $70 and easy to replace.

this is 2000 bonneville se with a 3.8. no check engine light or codes stored . no fuel press. drop at time of stalling. it almost seems as if all electrical power just cuts out. all gauges drop . car starts right back up. only time it didn' t was on the highway and it was stumbling so i think it just loaded up.

I wonder if it could be a bad fuel sending unit? I have heard of them failing when they warm up, but not sure if it would throw codes or not. Your miles are low enough that I would think it would not be the prob.

let us know... very curious. :?

Could be a bad ground as well, lift the carpet on the drivers side and look for a master ground bus there. Clean it up and tighten the connections.

My first thoughts were the fusebox electrical and upper intake manifold.

Upper intake would be a clear and easy diagnosis if the coolant jug is empty.

The electrical is going to take a little more looking into, however for a known weakness on the car and staving off a possible car fire, it'* well worth checking/repairing.

Check your MAF connection. Sometimes corossion builds up and it acts funny.
