Turn the Key and nothing-Starting issues
I have a 2000 SSEi and when I turn the key I get nothing. It will not even turn over.
Sometimes after a few dozen turns it will start. Appears to have plenty of juice in the battery. I hear the clicking under the back seat by the battery when I turn the key-Also all the battery connections are good with no corrosion.
Is this a relay issue? Starter????
If a relay which relay should I be looking at??
Thanks!

In the manual is states "When trying to start the vehicle, if engine does not start and the SECURITY light comes on, the key may have a damaged transponder."
After I try to start it and the gauges reset the SECURITY does come on and then turns off.
Is this what the manual is talking about?

Security light indicates fault by either staying on, or by blinking. Normal operations are indicated when the light comes on for a second, and goes out. If you are getting power to the starter when you hit the key, I would be led to believe the issue lies with the starter motor, or with a grounding issue. When the starter was bench tested, was it tested through the solenoid, or was it just tested to the positive on the starter? Solenoid could be bad too.

When I started the car I turned the KEY to ON and then went underneath and arched the starter motor with a screw drive. That is how I knew there was power to the starter.
When I turn the key to start the lights do not dim.
Bad Solenoid??
