installing a hud on a 2003
has anybody tried installing a hud on their car. I have a 2003 without the hud and was wondering if it could be done.

i hate it to but my friends like it. I know i can get the hud unit but i need a new dash piece..but what im really wondering is if the car has the wiring for it.. like my old nissan had all the wiring for the heated mirrors and heated seats so all i needed was the new mirrors and the new seats.

It isn't all that difficult if you have some degree of technical and wiring experience. All signals required for the HUD are accessible at one point or another within the dash. Basically, you need:
Vehicle Speed Signal
Left Signal Lamp Supply Voltage
Right Signal Lamp Supply Voltage
High Beam Indicator Supply Voltage
Class 2 Serial Data Bus
Power
Ground
You will also need to wire in the control which is located where your cubby hole is left of the steering column. Again, this isn't difficult since all these connections can be made at the HUD unit itself.
Just about all the signals in the above list can be obtained from the instrument cluster connectors.
