Default Compass/Temperature Mirror

Greetings--

I'd like to upgrade my mirror to a compass/temp unit (auto-dim too perhaps but not critical). Is Gentex the way to go or should I shop around some junkyards?

Do any detailed instructions exist for installation? I'm not afraid to try it if I've got instructions for it regarding wiring, etc.

Would this work?

I like this one a lot as well...

Thank you.

Temperature sensor on any of yours Bill? I figure I'd go all out and get a compass/temp unit if I'm going to do it.

No.. only compass.

My truck has both..it'* nice. Be prepared to run a wire out of the cabin to the front of the car for the sensor.

I was thinking of using an 'Add-A-Circuit' for power. Find a keyed ignition source on the fuse block.

Beyond power, am I just looking at running a ground and then the temp. sensor through the firewall to somewhere in front of the engine?

Thanks.

If you don't have a sunroof..you'll have power close by. I forget if Toasty used a sunroof connector or something from the overhead cubby

I don't have a sunroof. I want to find power that'* only on with the ignition, correct? If I used power from the accessory outlet in the overhead cubby, wouldn't the mirror always be powered up? Thanks for your help.
