Ahh....ok. I misunderstood. I thought that you were talking about the trunk weather seal, but you're having a problem with the window seal, if I am looking at what I think I am. ;) How close is the trunk lid in that area? Is it closer than in other parts?

Looks like a window seal to me to...

It is possible that it is attached to the rear window glass and does not actually seal anything. These are typically cosmetic only.

As for replacing, that will be much tougher than a trunk seal. A glass shop could tell you if it's attached to the window or snapped in after the fact.

Yeah sorry for the confusion because I didn't know what this was at first either.

It doesn't seem to be attached directly to the glass because I can follow the intact part down the entire rear window with a finger nail under it. Looks like it fills a gap and the metal strip inside gives it strength.

I'm going to talk to the local body shop for repair opinions on Saturday.
