I'm looking at an 03 Bonneville that'* for sale that will not shift into any gear selected (PRNDL) until the car is warmed up for 5-10 mins.
Once the car is warmed up, it shifts and drives perfectly fine - shifts gears fine as well.
Pressure Control Module? Or something inside the transmission? I'm combing through your archives to see what I can find.
thnx fellas, nice site!
Cheers,

I've always wanted a Bonneville for a daily driver, I ultimately want the 3.8 */c but hey, the NA is a bit cheaper at the pump especially for daily stop n go traffic.
I'm mechanically inclined, weekend warrior guy so I turn my own wrenches. This might be a chance for me to get one of these cars for cheaper and fix it.
Cheers!

Most likely it'* the input clutch piston/seal. These wear commonly on our transmissions. More info can be found at TripleEdgePerformance.com Dave has a lot of helpful, troubleshooting up on the page.

So it sounds like the tranny got to be dropped, thanks, for the link as the symptom appears to be lsited on that page.
edit: so can this be replaced without taking the trans apart? or will it have to come out and then be cracked open?

The input stuff is pretty deep in the trans. It'* gotta come out and basically be rebuilt. You may be able to repair the car cheaper if you check car-part.com for a used trans.

Ouch. Never took a trans apart before and I'm thinking that one is not the kind to start out on. Thanks for your help guys - I really appreciate it.
