Default Sliding Moonroof cover edging

I just bought a used 2002 SSei. The felt on the front edge of the moonroof cover is coming off. Was there a factory edging piece which I am missing?

any other solutions?

On my 04 there is no front edge molding. I also assume that you are talking about the interior sliding panel.

yes the interior cover. The felt is coming loose. I'm trying to decide how to fix it.

They all do that. You're not alone. The best fix would probably be to remove the cover and apply some heavy duty adhesive.

Default solution?

I purchased some clear (although it is available in black) 1/4" O.D. tubing (urethane or vinyl) 10' for <$2 at Home Depot. I then cut off a piece about 30" and slit it full length on the inside of the curvature. Then I spread the slit apart and forced the slit over the edge of the sunroof trapping the covering under it. (It may take a second person to hold it tight) Then cut it to length. I am very pleased with the aesthetics of the fix.

So what if it is beyond repair? Can it be recovered? Or should I go to GM to get a new one?

it could be recovered, I would do it the same time as your headliner though, to get them to match.
