Trans Went
 

hello i have a 2000 bonn.. ssei and the trans went out... it is the FHB model can i inner change with
the other ones....CHB,, OR FCB???? and if i can not. why not..can i change the computer with the trans would that work...??? thanks

Where's Sawgunner, he learned what the codes meant.

This is from my feeble memory... I think it's a matter of whether it had the internal range selector of the external. Which are very interchangable to a degree. Do you have a black box on top of your transmission where the gear selector cable moves the shaft going into the transmission? (That would be an external selector)

no nothing on the top of the trans....just a computer next to it in front.

Ok, that's an internal range selector then. Not a big deal. and easy enough to work with. That should be compatible with a couple of the other years and shouldn't be tough to find a used one.

where ya located? check here http://www.car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi the easiest code one to find is the FHB so your in luck there mine is the CHB and it was a pain to find
