Headers
I know this must have been talked about 100 times already in the past but I am ready to do my headers now and I want to be sure. I want to know which brand to go with and what dipstick tube to use. I was planning on TOG brand and I think I remember seeing that a Grand Prix trans dipstick is the one to use. Any suggestions would be a great help

yea your not going to get a straight answer. All the choices seem to be the same and there is no considerable differnce between them. Yea the tranny dipstick is in the way, the GP dipstick is the one

to be forwarned the slp'* are known to have a ticking noise a little but nothing bad.
Me I had "money to burn" and got TOGs plated in Silver ceramic.
here'* the part #'* for the grand prix tranny tube and stick
Tube part # 12562853
Dip stick # 12556460

The TOG'* are a QUALITY header and you can't beat the warranty. When my dad got his TOG'* he didn't look at them too closely, once they were on the car he noticed that one of the welds was bad and there was a hole about 1/8" in diameter in one of the welds. He contacted TOG and they sent him a new one no questions asked without even seeing the bad header. Haven't really looked too closely at any SLP'*, I've seen them on cars before, and they look good, but I haven't looked really close at them. The TOG'* seem to be better flowing based from what I've seen on ClubGP, and based on logic by looking at the two headers and comparing the flow through them, but I could be wrong. Personally, I am somewhat biased and prefer the TOG'*, but I honestly think they are a better header. If I had to choose between one of them, I would drop the extra cash and spring for the TOG'*.

I too am biased towards TOG headers.
I think they have better connections and are slightly larger in diameter than the SLP units. They also come with a very nice flex connector.
You will have to trim the metal shield over the steering rack to clear the relocated O2 sensor.

Performance wise, I don't think anyone will outflow either of them anytime soon with a Bonneville. They both work, SLP'* are cheaper but as Taylor says has a ticking sound from the flexpipe that can be fixed with headerwrap.
I run the SLP'*, I think Caminated2K runs the SLP'*, not sure what Foghorn and Allmachtige run, but these are the fastest cars on the club (not including BADSSEi which runs BIGDOG TOG headers).

Thanks for all the help. The part #'* for the tube and dipstick were a big help. I think I will go with the TOG'*.
