Default Cracked Windshield

A rock hit my windshield today. Just got done washing, waxing, etc. to it and Now i have a spider crack right up the middle of my windshield. I am thinking about comparing replacing it vs. calling the insurance company.

There isn't any way to fix this is there?
I doubt it, but I thought I would ask.

Depends. How long is the crack?

As far as I know, a crack that large is not repairable. Must be replaced. But to be sure, you could call a company like Safelite and ask them if its repairable.

It'll probably be just about 200-300 to have it replaced by a shop.

Diamond glass does really good work for pretty good prices IIRC.

Not having seen the crack, Im pretty sure I can safely say the whole thing has got to be replaced. In Florida insurance companies are required to replace windshields for free. Not sure if thats true in your State, but you might wanna check.
