Techron Fuel Additive to quiet fuel pump?

I took my ssei to the dealer to let him listen to my fuel pump. In my opinion, it is way to loud. Over the phone, he stated loud fuel pumps are not uncommon in gm cars. Unfortunately, when I took it in it wasn't as loud as it usually is. He suggested I put in a fuel conditioner called Techron made by Chevron. He said not only will it clean deposits but it would also act as a lubricant and quiet the fuel pump. Any thoughts on this? I assume since he recommended it and they sell it at the dealership, it is safe. But is it effective. It wouldn't cost much to give it a try.

I run Chevron with Techron at every other oil change (~every 10k miles) in the Bonnie and my RAM. Have done so for a very long time in the RAM and have never had a fuel system issue with it. IMO, Chevron is the best fuel additive you can buy.
