hey so my 2001 has spent two days in the shop. Real good mechanic, the dudes awesome and for a fair price for his work, i dont mind him doing the stuff i dont have time to repair.

One thing on my list was he pulled a transmission comminucation distruption code off of the scanner. I had my service engine light on, that was one of the codes that popped up, i cant remember what one it was though. Anyone else ever hear of that before?

And he also did an overall check on the car cause i swore a few months ago somethin was up with my rear sure enough i was right... the rear shock was totally blown out. apparently there was fluid leaking everywhere from that drivers side rear shock.
is that starting to be a common problem for other 00+ owners?

A ton of other things are getting fixed on the car that just add up to over 1500 dollars in parts alone, im litereally having the car fixed so all i gotta do is change oil and rotate tires once n awhile.

my biggest concern is that trans code? He said it was a loss of communication between the tranny comp and the main computer :?:

every 00+ car that i have scanned, ( 5 of them now) i have always seen one or the other of these

U1016 - Loss of Class 2 Communication with VCM
and
U1000 - Class 2 Communication Malfunction

U1016 is the code.

So why would those codes show up? The car drives perfectly fine.... especially off the line ask my girlfriend, she punches me everytime i show off.

I do notice sometimes (when im doing 65) and i punch it the engine needs 2 seconds to find a gear...but thats the only time something of that nature happens.
