Default Aye Carumba - ASE Chips !!!

Finally got an E-mail reply from my inquiry to ASE chips....
<<<<
Silver:

We can modify your Ecu in case you decide send it to us, but there´* no people available anymore to work it at L.A., so if you want we work on your Ecu, you must send it to Mexico where there are people in charge to do the job.It may take 3-4 days to get your ecu back.

I can help you with a new tunnig improving your stock performance around 8-10%, raise shift points ? Rpm and remove speed limiter, besides you can use the shift kit, I ´ll just don´t modify the shift pressures.

Price: $ 349.00 usd + *&H

If you are in US, shipping from Mexico is around $50 usd

Best Regards

Hmm...400.00 to remove the speed limiter, raise the shift points and get 8% improvement.

Isn't the powerband on the Bonnies in the lower rpms? Wouldn't you want to get to lower rpms in the next gear sooner than later? Not sure this seems worth it...to me anyway...

Yes, it'* only 10 hp and 20 ft-lbs of torque but it will prevent the transmission from shifting into top gear at low throttle input. I find it very annoying when the rpm'* drop to 1100 rpm with the hilly terrain around here and then I have to put my foot into it to get it to down shift. It will also allow the engine to drop down into 1st gear at higher speeds for better accelleration. Haven't you ever floored it at 30 mph and experienced that boggy feel because it only kicks down into 2nd gear not 1st.......or had the speed limiter come on at 108 mph when you floor it and it kicks down into 3rd gear.
I often get my speed up to the 128 mph limit but have to baby the throttle to get it there.

Another advantage is changing the cooling fan temperature setting, so it always stays at 180*F.

I just don't like the thought of shipping it down to Mexico to have the work done. :(

DHP may be a better option.....but I won't go there until I've completed all my exhaust mods first.

You know, now that you mention it, I have noticed this on Kendra'* car. I figured it was a problem with the tranny and was going to have it looked at. My car never seems to do this. I even autotapped it to make sure it was kicking down properly.

After all this time I don't feel secure in sending my ECM to ASE. What if this lack of communication happens again especially while they have my ECM or if I need them after the install besides the shipping to Mexico. Something must be wrong if they can't get anybody to run the shop in the L.A. During this time I researched DHP and feel the program is better for my application and because they get back to you ASAP.

I'd be quite iffy about the mexio deal too. Dhp sounds much better. On a thread here somewhere, I guess Hypertech Power Programer will be availavble for us. That will be a great option. Only heard praise about hypertech.

If you get a DHP it will downshift into 1st at speeds of up to 45mph, usually just 40mph, but every once in a while the GTP will downshift into 1st at 45 and it scares the **** out of you because its already at like 5500rpms once it downshifts.

Default DHP

I haven't heard about Hypertech doing anything about our cars yet but if it is like the rest of their stuff, it will probably be a generic sort of program. I would rather have a more custom program for all my different mods.

I have a connection who does most of my computer reprogramming actually 2 and at least one of them close to silver may take on a contract with ASE to offer there service. I will call and if this is done through me I owe you silver so I will make it as cheap as possible.

I also owe Silverbullet a FWI or CAI and if I can get a 2000-2003 Bonneville from the Fresno area on board I will have a full kit built and ceramic coated. I am going to request a car in the club section.

Hypertech will have a programmer comming out for our cars....its just when is the question. I spoke with a sales rep and he found the model number but its still in testing phase (been there for sometime).
I have never used a hypertech before but I do like what it has to offer with other cars.
If you look at the hypertech 3 each step is programable, Id like to see these featuers avabile on ours.
rev limiter, adjustable
fan temp on ( adjustable setting)
govner on/off
raise/lower shift points
1-2
2-3
3-4
spedomer corrections (for different size tires)
tranny firmness adjustable setting
adjust fuel tables?
adjust the pressure of the power sterring (firmer or softer)
Program the greeting display. "welcome to the MATRIX Neo"

I doubt that the hypertech will have all these featuers, but I can dream cant I?

BTW a GM tech 2 can do these things..but it costs $3000.00 choke, gag, cough

cheers
chad
all of these
